And so September 8th will be a parent-approved, "Skip Day," for my son.. There is nothing that Obama has to say that my kid needs to hear. I don't like one thing that Obama has said about America and Americans so far, and so I'll tutor him my son on politics-Obama is not going to try to indoctrinate my son by talking to a captive audience in schools.. Not surprisingly, I called the school today and was told that they have no information on the event 6 days away.. I gave them a heads up and told them that my son would opt-out, and if that wasn't allowed that he has a cold coming on that I expect to peak on September 8th, or so.. They seemed to be understanding. www.politico.com/news/stories/0909/26711.html

It would seem that we, the upset parents, have gotten our message through... The Obama administration is rethinking its course recommendations for students ahead of President Obama's address to the the nation's schoolchildren next week, rewriting its suggestions to teachers for student assignments on how to "help the president,"
The Washington Times reported Thursday that presidential aides acknowledged they helped the U.S. Education Department write the suggested assignments, which stirred criticism by many who say Obama is trying to indoctrinate the education system.
White House aides said the language was supposed to be a inspirational, pro-education message to America's youths, but its unintended consequences were evident.
Among the activities initially suggested for pre-K to 6th grade students was to "write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president."
Another assignment for students after hearing the speech was to discuss what "the president wants us to do."Read at the Washington Times.

I'm glad to see the resistance to this nanny government and that parents are protecting their children from the indoctrination government is pushing for.
It is no longer "ask what you can do for your country" it's "ask what you can do for your president"!
I think the elite running things have forgotten that many do not vote at all because they are disgusted with politics, many don't vote because they have long lost confidence in government and many don't vote because they believe the voting process is screwed and it doesn't matter.
Obama winning this election on popular vote does not mean the majority of Americans are with him and more and more many are coming out of the woodwork, speaking up and the more government keep pushing and pushing themselves into our lives, taking our hard earned money, living like kings and now with Obama pushing his way into the classroom to win the hearts and minds of our children as an adviser and their "supreme" leader is waking up another segment of society that is finding their American spirit and are going to resist.
So they softened the language, pull back a bit but Obama will get his face in the classroom - he will try. If that happens, just take the American flag down and out of the classroom - the students can pledge allegiance to Obama!
