I noticed my grandson was not himself. This was a couple of years ago. His entire personality was gone. I asked his mother what was up and she told me that he was put on medication because the school told her he needed it. I didn't even ask why, I told her to call his doctor and tell him that he was coming off the med. She said that the school would call DSS on her. WHAT???!!! Then I asked why? His mother said... they said this and that... so, at a very young age they are teaching the kids that drugs are the answer. I wonder what percentage of grade school students are on medication to alter their "uniform" behavior? In Winchendon.

Homebase, I have been told, but I haven't been able to verify in writing, that schools get extra money for each special-needs child they have in their school, and a child diagnosed with ADHD and medicated accordingly falls into that class.. We were told by our son's school that he needed to be on drugs because he, "spaced out." Government schools are nothing but Liberal indoctrination centers today. They suck!! My son is doing 4th grade work in the 6th grade because of the retarded kids that the government insists they accept into their classes.. Some even deaf and needing a signer in the front of the class deisrupting all the normal kids.. It's maddening to the point that we're going to pull him out and put him in private school or home school him.. I see no reason for a deaf kid to be in my son's class as he was in the Pepperell public school, all in the name of not making him feel "different." Nope, nothing different about a deaf kid. He's just like you and me...

On the flip side of this, I wonder how many kick backs the Doc's are getting from the pharmaceuticals peddlers.
There is no "test" medically required for a Dx just a "hear take this". There is no follow up to evaluate effectiveness just behavioral subjective information. The parents/teachers like the child quiet, submissive and follow instructions without any problem. Long term effects not even a consideration.
My sister has worked in the medical field over 30yrs and told me a social worker revealed to her that every one of the students she knew of that took meds through their school years turned to drugs and had addiction problems when they grew into puberty and early adults.
Personally, I think the pharmaceuticals are having a hey day. They market and market... tell people they have a problem and they have the solution. Why leave the children out of the loop? And the school is pimping for them!! I would still like to know how many kids in Toy Town Elementary are on drugs.
I hope it works out for you to home school your kids!! It is the way to go! A friend of mine does and she said she loves it and the kids are doing great. She has a grown son that has graduated from a great college and has a great job in some sort of engineering field.
We need to know how much incentive the school has to keep kids in their special needs programs! And then, how "special" are they and how qualified the "program" is to bring them to potential.

We're researching home schooling and also looking into several private schools. We will likely move out of Winchendon before my youngest daughter starts school because my wife hates it here. We're looking at Western North Carolina or Virginia. I love the South because there is still faith down there.. I feel like Massachusetts has gone completely secular and kicked Christianity out of the public. This state is disgusting and Devolve Patrick is a dick. He's just pissed off that Obama hasn't invited him to Washington yet, and he's stuck in a state with no money to spend. I'll gladly hand over the keys to the gay marriage state and head home...
