God, I can't stand the stupid, irresponsible, incompetent Massachusetts drivers!!!
I travel Rte. 140 and Rte 2 every day, and I can't stand it!! You can't just go 6-8 over the speed limit and set your cruise control, because there will always be that asshole that has to do 20 over the speed limit that rides your ass and pressures you until you get over and let him by.. Then, idiots will pass you when you have your cruise set and get in front of you and all of a sudden you're right on their bumper because now they aren't going faster than you anymore because they evidently haven't discovered cruise control and going one steady speed.. So you pass them and get in front of them and hit resume on the cruise control and now they're gaining on you and have to pass you again... It's asinine!! I think cruise control should be the law!
So then I'll get in the fast lane traveling faster than they slow lane traffic, but leaving the lawful and common sense several car lengths between me and car in front of me, and the idiots behind me in the fast lane that are right on my ass decide to pass me on the right because I'm not riding the bumper of the car in front of me, so they think I'm going too slow, even though I'm going as fast as the car in front of me several car lengths away... Morons!! It gives me great pleasure, when someone is riding my ass with their high beams on, thereby letting me know that 65 isn't fast enough for them in a 55 MPH zone, to reach up and very blatantly wrench my rear-view mirror up and to the right so that it's pointing to the ceiling and turn both my side-view mirrors so that they face the ground, and then I just ignore those assholes! It's fun!
Massachusetts drivers are some of the dumbest, most irresponsible drivers I've ever seen, and I've been all over the country and around the world!!

Sounds like you met my husband on the highway. I can't stand the way he drives! But you think he would sit in the passenger seat and let me drive? The few times have been unbearable, "slow down, you're going to slow, come on what are you thinking, pull over pull over, you don't know what you're doing, jezus ******"
Years ago a guy hit me broadside on rt. 2 coming up behind me (I saw him in my rear view mirror) in Leominster weaving in and out of congestion at high speed. It wasn't a hard hit but I had a car load of kids and it shook me up. I immediately pulled off into the breakdown lane to make sure we were all right and gather my wits. Thankfully no injuries just a dent in the car, the guy also pulled over and made sure nothing bad happened. He apologized and I have no doubt that he was sincere and I guess I always felt, no harm no foul but driving as to endanger is not always intentional or cognitive when one is behind the wheel but things happen fast out there and keeping a couple car lengths from the car in front of you is a measure I always keep but I don't see it a lot on the highway. Even in bad weather and going at speeds of 60mph or higher.

Morons!! My thought is that if there is room to pass on the right then there is room for me to get over and out of their way. Beside, it's the law to stay right except to pass.

Morons!! My thought is that if there is room to pass on the right then there is room for me to get over and out of their way. Beside, it's the law to stay right except to pass. I know this is the law, but I'm at passing speed with all the other traffic, but I've got distance between me and the car in front of me, which is also the law.. I'm approaching other traffic on the right, and I'm doing 60 or 65 in a 55, so I'm not going to get over and let the idiots hell-bent on doing 70 pass me and get right on the ass of the car in front of them in the fast lane.. Then I get trapped in the right lane behind all the traffic not going the speed limit... So I just stay in the fast lane at passing speed, even though I'm slowly overtaking the traffic in the right lane... The fact that I maintain a safe distance does not mean that I'm not going the same speed as the fast lane traffic in front of me-it just means that I'm passing on the left, but at a safe distance behind the traffic in front of me.. You shouldn't have to ride the bumper of the car in front of you to satisfy the idiots behind you that you're going as fast as you can.. That's not safe, and I won't do it.. I'll just aim my mirrors down, and hopefully eventually there will be a cop that actually enforces the law and tickets one of the idiots riding my bumper with his brights on for tailgaing because 10 over isn't fast enough for them. When there's no traffic in the right lane, I'll gladly get over and let the idiots with more money than brains pass..

When there's no traffic in the right lane, I'll gladly get over and let the idiots with more money than brains pass.. Thank you. Part of my issue is that in my +100 miles of commuting per day I see on average 10 to 20 obliviots who cannot be bothered to move back into the right hand lane when it is safe and clear to do so. They are IMNSHO the biggest cause of traffic slowdowns on Rt 2, and I think they contribute to a fair number of accidents as well. It's the single biggest pet peeve I have with MA drivers.

Just to be clear, Kevin, I only stay in the left lane if I see that there is traffic in the right hand lane that I will soon overtake, because every time I get over to let the idiot on my tail pass, I get run right up on the traffic in the right lane because the person me doesn't pass fast enough or there are multiple cars behind him, so now I just stay in the left lane if there is right-lane traffic until I've passed them.

I understand. Just to be clear, Kevin, I only stay in the left lane if I see that there is traffic in the right hand lane that I will soon overtake... That's the key phrase. I frequently see a whole line of cars (4-6) riding in the left hand lane on Rt 2 with the right lane wide open. There will usually be a car far ahead in the right lane but the first car is not going to be getting to them any time soon and everyone behind is too fixated on the vehicle right in front of them to move over.
