Oh, the poor citizens of the UK... The Nanny State is just out of control with cameras on every corner, the police no being allowed to carry guns, and now if you're caught eating while driving it warrants an investigation by police... Even if you're the police... news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/wear/8274735.stmPolice have begun an investigation into reports an officer was seen eating a sausage roll at the wheel of a patrol car on Wearside. The Northumbria force confirmed it had received a complaint from a member of the public. The complainant allegedly saw a police officer sharing the food with a colleague who was driving over speed bumps in Washington, near Sunderland. In 2005 the force issued a fine to a woman holding an apple while driving. In 2005, Sarah McCaffery, from South Tyneside, was given a £30 ticket by officers who spotted the fruit and said she was not in proper control of her Ford Ka. She appealed but was convicted after a trial. In relation to the recent incident, a spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: "We have received a complaint from a member of the public, which will be fully investigated."
