Even though we rely on them for nothing, and they benefit us in no way, Italy has had an earthquake with a pretty substantial death toll, which is bound to rise, but one thing is certain-we'll go even more bankrupt sending them money that we don't have, as usual.... Yes, it's sad, and, no, I'm not heartless, but we're broke!! Obama has just spent trillions that we don't have, so philanthropy should be out!! We have no money to give other nations, period! The Story

I know! Lets build them a Superdome for their homeless then lock them in and place armed guards for protection around the camp, er I mean facility - like our government takes care of us here at home.
A horrible tragedy, but you're right - one cannot give what they don't have. Let our rich fat bloated, inflated politicians reach into their own pockets, put their money where their mouth is and send their own money to help. They got it!

A horrible tragedy, but you're right - one cannot give what they don't have. Let our rich fat bloated, inflated politicians reach into their own pockets, put their money where their mouth is and send their own money to help. They got it! Now I have to address this one, homebase, because i don't agree with you... First of all, anyone who chooses to live in a soup bowl below sea level with only levys protecting their property is an idiot, but beyond that, the animals in Louisiana were their own worst enemy.. Louisiana was a tragedy because of the pervasive black mindset that everyone owes them everything, and if they don't get it, we must be racist.. Their black mayor dropped the ball first-Mayor Nagin had absolutely no contingency plan in place, and he turned down Federal aid initially.. It pisses me off to be called a racist nation when these idiots put themselves in this situation for the perfect storm.. Their black mayor dropped the ball, they called us racist, and then they reelected that idiot! Local government is the first line of responsibility in any disaster, then it escalates to federal, but Nagin didn't do a damned thing! He just held news conferences... As far as armed guards at the Superdome-sorry, but crime statistics dictate that whenever a population is predominantly black, they need law enforcement, not only to protect them from themselves, but to keep them from doing things like looting their towns, which they failed miserably to prevent... Just look at Dorchester and Roxbury.. The black on black crime is rampant-you don't see this in any white neighborhoods.. And that's not a racist statement-it's an observation of fact. Can you imagine the chaos and rioting if there weren't armed law enforcement personnel prevalent in New Orleans during Katrina? It was bad enough even with them. Then, when it became apparent that they needed FEMA aid, they reluctantly accepted it. They were warned to leave their homes, but many thought they were smarter than the government, and they stayed put.. So now National Guard troops had to go out, risking their lives, to do rescue runs from helicopters for the holdouts who ran out of food or medicine.. And the Superdome? That was a fine place to put people if those people weren't animals who broke the toilets, fought like feral dogs, looted the surrounding towns, shot guns at responding aid vehicles, including ambulances and helicopters, and just generally made it very difficult to help them.. And when when other states took these people in, many of these thankless heathens vandalized the generous hosts' properties.. They were given FEMA credit cards to survive on, and there was widespread abuse uncovered with people buying Gucci bags and getting lap dances, among other things.. We've had several catastrophes in the Midwest since Katrina ( floodings and tornados) with one huge difference-they didn't cry that the government wasn't helping them, and they helped themselves and each other and just got through it without blaming anyone for their situation or using these situations as an excuse to loot their town stores.. In fact, Fargo was flooded terribly just last week, and I didn't hear any cries of government neglect-they should many video clips on the news it was all just citizens stacking sand bags and preparing for the water.. It's just a completely different mentality.

Their black mayor dropped the ball, they called us racist, and then they reelected that idiot! Local government is the first line of responsibility in any disaster, then it escalates to federal, but Nagin didn't do a damned thing! He just held news conferences... I remember seeing a meteorologist reporting on what would happen to that area should a major surge or such unfortunate event take place. It was a couple of years before the hurricane Katrina. They knew what could happen and would if things got ugly and they didn't prepare. Or, as was reported couldn't get the federal funds to shore up the levies. I also thought the local government was a sham, completely corrupt and disorganized. I missed the part of being called a racist. The armed guards were outside the dome, no protection inside. But you're right, we may disagree. All I remember is there were no National Guard to send there, they were over in Iraq. Regardless of what one chose to do, stay or go... a search and rescue would have been executed anyway. Even for animals. And the Superdome? That was a fine place to put people if those people weren't animals who broke the toilets, fought like feral dogs, looted the surrounding towns, shot guns at responding aid vehicles, including ambulances and helicopters, and just generally made it very difficult to help them.. Inside the dome they were on their own. Mothers with infants, the infirmed, elderly, all subject to the criminal element that is with every society. And when when other states took these people in, many of these thankless heathens vandalized the generous hosts' properties.. They were given FEMA credit cards to survive on, and there was widespread abuse uncovered with people buying Gucci bags and getting lap dances, among other things.. Yup, true of some - just free money. They were given money to get on with their lives and that is just what they were doing. I think that you made a good point IMO. People will take care of their own. There wasn't a flood like Katrina in that area since the 20's (I think it was) and the warnings and certainty of what would (not could) happen fell on death ears. Why? Because of "learned dependency" as well as the unwillingness to either spend the money to shore up the levies or spend the time to prepare. I know we disagree on some things but sending money for disaster relief, famine or what ever humanitarian efforts the Government puts out before the people, I believe very little gets to the actual needs of the people in dire need for relief. That is why I said let the politicians that live in mansions on public funds pool their resources, elicit the help of their campaign contributors (worth billions) - put a cry out for those willing and able to contribute - do not use tax dollars at this time would be prudent. IMO We'll see if we are sending relief over. God help them - God help us all!

I missed the part of being called a racist. I love that we can agree to disagree and be civil about it... But about the racist charge, read this.. Let me know how you feel about it..

In my opinion this is a typical special interest group with a political socialist and global agenda - typical to "never let a crisis go to waste".
This statement in itself is racist to the poor blacks and inflammatory towards the victims of a natural disaster placing the blame squarely on a white population and white politics incites and furthers racism, division and hatred using the "black/white" under a blanket of "multiracial" and using government neglect as being racially motivated.
It furthers and fosters dependency on government programs as the answer and portrays poor blacks as helpless and needy.
Crying for UN oversight!
Using phrases like "social justice" (whats that?) and "economic equality" (socialism).
The more these people can incite, enrage and divide the American citizenry the more powerful they get. It's called divide and concur.
Instead of teaching and preaching hate, dependency and divisiveness, they should teach there is no such thing as freedom without first economic freedom (red, yellow, black, white) instead of leading them into further enslavement of government programs.
No, let the residence that suffered a terrible loss wake up and hold their elected officials feet to the fire and demand accountability. Societies poor and degraded neighborhoods will only be featured to the public in the light of crime and of course there is plenty of that in impoverished areas. However, it demonstrates the failure of socialists programs and reports never mention the tax dollars that is taken from the public in the name of welfare to provide for many of the residence that has only served to keep them below poverty level and perpetual dependency on the program. Financially, socially and conditioned.
This article is full of hate and accusations, using a crisis to further their real agenda of Socialism.
