I noticed there are ones that don't post anymore or very little. I don't post there mostly because I don't think my concerns or focus would be very appreciated. And yes, the BYF "green acres" is quiet. Not that gardening and community working gardens are not a good thing to talk about, especially here (in rual Winchendon) - if things get really bad we're going to need community support and strong leadership. BTW if you are planting vegetables this year, get heirloom seeds www.heirloomseeds.com/* All the varieties of seeds we sell are open pollinated (non-hybrid) and untreated. * None of the seeds we sell are genetically engineered. * Selection of gardening books for the beginner or experienced gardener. * A variety of garden supplies and non-toxic products for insect control. * Quality seeds at low pricesHeck, someone could even make a few bucks conducting gardening instructions, even canning classes. Really! Even if you don't have much room, some things can be grown in a 5 gal. bucket, I understand. I am one that would sign up.

ripvan said on the Backyard fence that Japanese cars are no longer better than American cars, so I'd like to take a look at something just because I'm bored and like to type.. to illustrate my point, I had a little fun.. I went to www.kbb.com, which is Kelly Blue Book where you can find out the value of your car.. I put my car in, which is a 10 year old Subaru Outback with 100,000 miles on it... Since the Impala wasn't sold then, I used the 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34 Coupe 2D, which was a pretty nice car for Chevy back then.. I selected FAIR condition for both and 100,000 miles standard trim package and private party value, since most banks don't like to loan money on a 10 year old car. The difference is astounding. How do you explain that if it isn't quality and reliability? All 10-year old cars, and all with 100,000 miles.. Mine even has a standard transmission, which is a deduct in the blue book! First the Monte Carlo: Now the Subaru Outback: And the 1999 Chevrolet Malibu LS Sedan 4D Basically, American cars aren't as dependable for as long as Japanese cars from my experience.. The one thing that American car makers do make well, though, is trucks! But I'd take a Toyota T100 or Tundra any day over a GMC or Chevrolet.

This is what was posted on the new board: Rumors are that KB had been banned, again, shortly before the board was deleted. If true, I think it highly likely that he then made some kind of wild complaint that got the BYF closed down.

Thanks for the link Kevin. So, Proboards deleted it? Without warning, notice or explanation? That's nice! As explained hereYet the Admin "me" stated: Is there copyright violations when one quotes sources? Why the mention of copyright violation if there was nothing stated by Proboards in reference to copyright violation? What ever!!

If one takes what "me" says at face value then no specific reasons have been given by Proboards. I suspect the copyright statement is based a guess about the kind of complaint that might have been used by KB.

If that's the case Kevin then I believe it's wrong on the part of Proboards but it is the way things go now. Anything that can offend someone will be banned or deleted. Information is on the front lines now and the internet must be tamed.

Brassmonkey, you might want to make a backup of this place from time to time, if you can.

I haven't been going to the BYF a lot lately so I don't know what has been being said or going on there. Maybe the new site will take off, who knows.

I made an account at the new BYF using my name.. I'm done playing games, and everyone knows me, anyway, so why bother using an alias.. Me can check IP addresses, anyway, so he'd know me, anyway.. I just wonder who Ron C is.. He's obviously not trying to hide behind an alias, and he said he saw me on my bike, so I must know him... Ron Gaspard would be Ron G... So prolly not him...
