Realname posted this-I don't know if it was to knock Sarah Palin for bieng a Christian, but I'll volunteer that I'm damn proud to have a Christian VP candidate, and I hope we can take this country back to being a Christian nation... realname, you seem to actually have a problem with her being a Christian.. That's very disturbing. Real Christians do believe that God guides and influences every aspect of their lives.. And God is involved in every aspect of your life if you're a believer. So to mention God in your business dealings, your personal life and praying that you succeed in your endeavors is very much appropriate.. Watch it here before it become membes only...

It's funny over there on the Backyard fence the day after the VP debate-the hens are being called insecure and jealous, as they clearly are, because they are faulting Palin and dogging her looks and her speech.. Women can be so catty! Liberals don't care about the issues, anyway, and so it stands to reason that they're attacking her looks and mannerisms over her answers. Typical.
Only an idiot would say that Palin isn't intelligent, and as far as her knowledge, she's had no reason to care until now about Supreme Court decisions or McCain's policies. She is beautiful, and she is smart, but what she isn't is a politician in the traditional sense of the word. If anyone makes me want to vomit, it's a run-of-the-mill politician who thinks they know what's best for us while not living in our world.
She's learning as she goes, and what's important is that she have the APTITUDE to learn and become more knowledgeable about politics. She definitely will bring a fresh take on politics to Washington, and that's one thing we desperately need. I loved the way she said that many times the gubment is the problem! When have you heard someone vying for public office say that?
She's great. Not up on foreign affairs and even American affairs, but she seems to be a quick study, and Biden is being proven to be a little inaccurate in a lot of his answers last night.

Massachusetts has always had puritans, vocal and organized ones. There is a frame that the picture must fit... think pursed lips and raised eyebrows.
I don't agree with all she supports or what she says she believes, I like her spirit and I believe she is a conscionable person that will fight for the People and what she believes is right. That can get you killed in Washington.
She is a sweet diversion, a lamb among wolves. The McCain campaign did the right thing bringing Palin on board, and she can hold her own in many ways... in style, I might ad, but if McCain gets elected, it's party line all the way. I'm not so sure her eyes are wide open. However she is what brought me on board.

Well said, both brassmonkey and homebase. Sarah Palin's selection definitely energized my support for McCain, and that of my family, including my wife. We agree with most of her positions, and I think she's done well by her selection. Remember, the first job of a VP candidate is to get their Presidential candidate elected. All this talk of succession, foreign policy, blah-blah, blah-blah only comes into play if they win.

Gateway posted this little disgusting nugget, and she obviously agrees with this nonsense, as she is a member of the Godless church, herself:
The following is the first communique from a group calling itself Unitarian Jihad. It was sent to me at The Chronicle via an anonymous spam remailer. I have no idea whether other news organizations have received this communique, and, if so, why they have not chosen to print it. Perhaps they fear starting a panic. I feel strongly that the truth, no matter how alarming, trivial or disgusting, must always be told. I am pleased to report that the words below are at least not disgusting:
Greetings to the Imprisoned Citizens of the United States. We are Unitarian Jihad. There is only God, unless there is more than one God. The vote of our God subcommittee is 10-8 in favor of one God, with two abstentions. Brother Flaming Sword of Moderation noted the possibility of there being no God at all, and his objection was noted with love by the secretary.
Greetings to the Imprisoned Citizens of the United States! Too long has your attention been waylaid by the bright baubles of extremist thought. Too long have fundamentalist yahoos of all religions (except Buddhism -- 14-5 vote, no abstentions, fundamentalism subcommittee) made your head hurt. Too long have you been buffeted by angry people who think that God talks to them. You have a right to your moderation! You have the power to be calm! We will use the IED of truth to explode the SUV of dogmatic expression!
People of the United States, why is everyone yelling at you??? Whatever happened to ... you know, everything? Why is the news dominated by nutballs saying that the Ten Commandments have to be tattooed inside the eyelids of every American, or that Allah has told them to kill Americans in order to rid the world of Satan, or that Yahweh has instructed them to go live wherever they feel like, or that Shiva thinks bombing mosques is a great idea? Sister Immaculate Dagger of Peace notes for the record that we mean no disrespect to Jews, Muslims, Christians or Hindus. Referred back to the committee of the whole for further discussion.
We are Unitarian Jihad. We are everywhere. We have not been born again, nor have we sworn a blood oath. We do not think that God cares what we read, what we eat or whom we sleep with. Brother Neutron Bomb of Serenity notes for the record that he does not have a moral code but is nevertheless a good person, and Unexalted Leader Garrote of Forgiveness stipulates that Brother Neutron Bomb of Serenity is a good person, and this is to be reflected in the minutes.
Beware! Unless you people shut up and begin acting like grown-ups with brains enough to understand the difference between political belief and personal faith, the Unitarian Jihad will begin a series of terrorist-like actions. We will take over television studios, kidnap so-called commentators and broadcast calm, well-reasoned discussions of the issues of the day. We will not try for "balance" by hiring fruitcakes; we will try for balance by hiring non-ideologues who have carefully thought through the issues.
We are Unitarian Jihad. We will appear in public places and require people to shake hands with each other. (Sister Hand Grenade of Love suggested that we institute a terror regime of mandatory hugging, but her motion was not formally introduced because of lack of a quorum.) We will require all lobbyists, spokesmen and campaign managers to dress like trout in public. Televangelists will be forced to take jobs as Xerox repair specialists. Demagogues of all stripes will be required to read Proust out loud in prisons.
We are Unitarian Jihad, and our motto is: "Sincerity is not enough." We have heard from enough sincere people to last a lifetime already. Just because you believe it's true doesn't make it true. Just because your motives are pure doesn't mean you are not doing harm. Get a dog, or comfort someone in a nursing home, or just feed the birds in the park. Play basketball. Lighten up. The world is not out to get you, except in the sense that the world is out to get everyone.
Brother Gatling Gun of Patience notes that he's pretty sure the world is out to get him because everyone laughs when he says he is a Unitarian. There were murmurs of assent around the room, and someone suggested that we buy some Congress members and really stick it to the Baptists. But this was deemed against Revolutionary Principles, and Brother Gatling Gun of Patience was remanded to the Sunday Flowers and Banners committee.
People of the United States! We are Unitarian Jihad! We can strike without warning. Pockets of reasonableness and harmony will appear as if from nowhere! Nice people will run the government again! There will be coffee and cookies in the Gandhi Room after the revolution.
And this is why I find this "church" repulsive. To say that "good" or "right" is up to whatever you believe is disgusting, as we were founded as a Christian nation, and it is my firm belief that the vast majority of the problems we're seeing in our society today are the direct result of kicking God out of public life. From our kids getting pregnant in their early teens, getting addicted to drugs and alcohol before they can drive, people killing each other with no remorse in places like Dorchester and Roxbury, etc.. Our society is unweaving, and we need morals back again. We need to be a society with a higher purpose. The alternative is chaos.
We were absolutely formed as a Christian nation, hence the prevalent presence of the Ten Commandments and only the Ten Commandments in Government buildings and any number of other indicators that I don't have the patience to type right now. The defense that these Godless people use to deny this is that we have freedom of religion as a protected right. Yes, this is true, but what we have here is-Our Founding Fathers founded this country as a Christian nation where you could come and practice your other religions besides Christianity without being persecuted! Get that? We are a tolerant nation, but it was never intended that we would be a Godless nation or that we would have Christianity eclipsed by any other religion.

Oh, the annoying multiple personalities.. I have come to suspect that there's really only about 6 individual posters on the BYF... The rest are alternate personalities... I've already proven 6 of them by IP address, and now, here's another proven solely by common sense... This person was registered as a new member in June of last year... probably yesterday using clock manipulation... but, who would ever believe that this would be the first post-notice the post count-of a person new to the forum.. Obviously just an alter-ego.. Also, to the jackass that registered the name.....to say, "Toy Town Forever," you really have your sights set pretty damn low......

The new Obama dog should be an English Bulldog named bull-shit.
From Severin's show-he should get two dogs, a lazy-ass English Bulldog and a Jack Russel Terrier, and every week he should give the Jack Russell extra treats that he'll take to the lazy Bulldog.

I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong, and I apparently interpreted the post incorrectly, so I have posted an edited response to address the issues that I see. 5oh6 posted this: "Watching a video clip today of Canadian parents mourning the death of a tween-age son, they describe a new generational divide: they had argued with him about his playing a particular video game so much, instead of him going outside to play. Boy ran away from home, and died unexpectedly out in the woods. Tragedy in the forefront, may God bless their souls and keep them close. Good and honest question in the background for the rest of us: shouldn't kids just go outside and play, for their own good? What's with all the sitting around with video games? " Kids today are definitely not getting the exercise they need. They are inundated with video games a computers and online chat and every other thing that keeps them in that chair. A healthy and active childhood is more important than ever due to the likely future of sitting in a cubicle or standing on an assembly line. There isn't much left in the way of physical labor any more in America, and here are some of the problems resulting from this cultural shift: 1. In case you weren't aware, recess isn't what recess used to be with kids running around playing dodgeball (wussies might get hurt) and playing tag (slow, fat kids mat get a complex or slip and fall). Recess today involves no-contact sissy sports and no running allowed for fear that the fragile little kiddies might just sustain an injury that they'll be better off for sustaining. In my opininon, if a boy makes it to adulthood having never required stitches or the setting of a broken limb, they didn't have a good childhood. 2. childhood obesity is an epidemic due to the onslaught of video games and the lack of physical exercise, and an active childhood is one of the few safeguards future adults have against their likely cubicle existence in the future. 3. Childhood onset diabetes.. The fatter our kids are and the more permissive parents pamper them with video games and sweets, the more this disease is growing. The statistics are available for the viewing if you have the ambition to be informed. 4. The dysfunctionality of today's video game obsessed kids who, even when they have friends over, aren't learning a damned thing about interacting with other due to both kids being immersed in the video game and that game being their world. Come on, let's not be stupid about this. It's much better for kids to be outside and active than cooped up in their rooms with only their hands getting exercise. It's not a badge of honor if your kid can beat a stupid video game, but it is a badge of honor if you are the parent of a letterman in high school.

I hear you, Kevin. Another thing I've seen is a bunch of people going, "Oh, wow! What have we done?" They've defeated George Bush, but I think many of them are finally realizing that George Bush wasn't running, and now they have a marxist in office. Blacks make up only 13%, or so, of our population, but what did the Nazis make up of the German population-10%? And look at what Hitler was able to accomplish. Scary. If only he could arm them, things in this country would get very ugly. Are you familiar with what happened in Zimbabwe where the blacks had an uprising when Robert Mugabe was elected and took all the white-owned farms and land to so that blacks could exert their dominance? Well, it took some time, but they realized that, even though blacks owned all the land and farms now, they can't farm!!! And they were starving to death, so they begged the white farmers to come back, but by that time all the blacks had stolen all the piping, pumps and anything else of value, and the farms couldn't function, even with the best farmer.. This news was so disturbing that I kept it from 2002, and I could easily see this happening under Obama with all his sickening socialist world support and views, combined with his career of fighting for the rights of black people! "Staff Reporter WINDHOEK, 29 August 2002 Namibia President Sam Nujoma has warned white farmers they should comply with his government's voluntary land redistribution program. WINDHOEK: Local media quotes Nujoma as saying if farmers do not hand over their land it would be taken from them. Nujoma says his government plans to seize, in accordance with the law, 192 farms belonging to absentee landlords. In Zimbabwe, the government has ordered 2,900 white commercial farmers to surrender their farms to landless blacks without compensation. Over the past week, the government has arrested at least 200 farmers, who have defied eviction orders to leave their land. Some information for this report provided by AFP and AP. (Voice of America News)" If you're unaware of the viciousness and ignorance that eixists in the seething underbelly of this country in the inner cities, watch this video. I've been watching this whole series, and it's sickening.

From smithy:
"I think the town has opened the gate to whomever wants to stop traffic and collect money for their cause. How can they deny anyone, and how will you feel when it is a cause which you feel negatively about?
Maybe 'Muslims in support of the Taliban', or 'The Winchendon Wicca Club', or any other group. Sure these are exaggerations but they show that it would be hard to disallow some groups and allow others. "
Or the Unitarian Universalists... Any whacky group could conceivably stand there with an empty cup....

Hey, M-1.. I was hoping the first time you used the word, "acquisation," it was a mistake, but today you used it for a second time when meaning accusation.. The word acquisation doesn't exist in the English language. Just an FYI...

Wow! If you decide to visit the UU Bulletin Board lately, be prepared to discuss gardens and animal tracks.... Don't expect any big-picture topics about the direction of the country or anything like that... Wow... What an estrogen fest...
No surprise, really.. I used to love it when that Mensa meeting would accost me, asking, "What's that got to do with Winchendon," when I would talk about federal issues.. Of course to those geniuses nothing the President or federal government does has any impact on Winchendon...
