This is some sad news.. Wow! I'm 37, and I can't imagine dying this young and orphaning my children. What a tragedy.
WINCHENDON— A 37-year-old West Springfield woman was killed when her car swerved into the southbound lane of Route 140 and collided with two oncoming vehicles just before 6:30 p.m. yesterday.
Tracy Rumery was taken to Henry Heywood Hospital in Gardner, where she later died.
Police said Scott Cloutier of Gardner was the driver of a 2005 Ford Escape that was the first vehicle struck by Ms. Rumery’s 1998 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. A passenger in the SUV was taken to the hospital with injuries that appeared to be non-life-threatening.
The car collided head-on with a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Joseph Ziroli of Johnston, R.I. He and a passenger were also taken to the Gardner hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Sgt. Raymond Anair and State Police Sgt. Stephen C. Marsh of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section are investigating with assistance from Winchendon Officer Alan Ross and Ashburnham Officer Les Hogerson. The Winchendon Fire Department also assisted.
